Who Are You?

“There are two ways of spreading light: to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it.”  Anon

Have you ever thought about whether you are spreading light around you.  Light is a form of energy and as I’ve said many times in the past we are all energy, in fact everything in the universe is energy.  Are you aware of whether you are spreading light authentically from the core of who you have been since conception or are you putting out a persona to the world that is a mixture of the conditioning you have received over the years form parents, teachers, siblings and friends.  Or maybe you are now be dancing to the tune of your life partner and not allowing your own inner glow to show through.

Do you have some quiet time each day that has been put aside for you alone?  A time to get to know who you really are under the masks  and costumes  that you allow the world to see.   A time to have a conversation and ask questions of the part of you that knows all the answers for you, for your highest good.   Being around my 2 year old grand daughter using the word ‘mine,’ reminds me that we all have a ‘mine’ authentic being, hiding behind the face we are choosing to show to the world.

Struggle Leads to Strength

“Just because you are struggling does not mean you are failing.  Every great success requires some struggle to get there.”  Unknown

Time and time again we hear that we learn from our mistakes.  That we become stronger as we bounce back from setbacks.  I’m sure if you were to look back, you would benefit from hindsight, and see the strength of character that you have developed because of some experience that you thought you would rather not have had.  This is why it is so important to set a goal that means something to you, that you really want to achieve, your WHY!  It is then easier to set your will and move past the challenges.

Having time with people who understand what you are trying to do and are keen to see you be successful, is important.  There are too many people who feel uncomfortable when you take strides forward, who don’t want to be left behind but not prepared to put in the effort.  The best way for them, is to see you struggle and to support you to stay small.  Keep your focus on those who want to see you succeed and remember that we are all powerful beyond belief and can achieve great things, no matter how hard the struggle or how many ‘failures.’  It’s how many times you bounce back that is important.

Thoughts become Actions

“You only have control over three things in your life – the thoughts you think, the images you visualize and the actions you take.  And how you use those three things determines everything you experience.”  Jack Canfield, Author and Speaker.

Most of us have heard of the quote that says we become what we think about or what we focus on most of the time.  The thoughts we have, cause us to feel a certain way and those feelings in turn cause us to act in a certain way and become the results of our lives.  This then can become like an endless circle and unless we break the cycle at the thought stage it will be pretty much impossible to alter our feelings and actions.  If you watch someone’s behaviour you can work out what they have been thinking.  And what we are thinking now affects the future.

We have the choice about the thoughts we have and we can choose to change them at any given moment and therefore change the outcome of our feelings and actions.  If you are feeling low, you are the only person responsible for that.  So often those low thoughts are not truths so ask yourself is it worth thinking them if they are going to make you feel so blue.  Just think how much better you could feel if you didn’t think those particular thoughts.
